C3 Presents: Renderers, Sore Eros at Emo’s Inside

$8 | 9PM | Emo’s Inside

Formed back in 1989 New Zealand’s Renderers are like peering into a time capsule, their music standing as the last of a generation long before indie rock was on the radio or in TV commercials. Married couple Brian and Maryrose Cook originally formed Renderers out of then-breakout band The Terminals, going on to record six studio albums over more than two decades. Their last album Monsters and Miasmas exhibits their unique blend of psychedelic rock (in the VU tradition) and old-time country, watch the video for “Deep Deep Sea” below.

Sore Eros started as the home-recording project of Robert Robinson, who after recording his debut album went on to collaborate with Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Panda Bear and Kurt Vile. After his father suffered a near life-ending heart attack in 2007 Robinson began recording what would become Second Chants, a fantastic collision of lush sounds and textures, the record touches on ‘Blue Jay Way’-style psychedelic drone, melodic pop, and fractured country-rock.
