Wind the clocks back a decade and Hawthorne Heights were just another DIY band from the midwest, playing basement shows in their hometown of Dayton, OH and booking their own tours to the east coast and back. Today they’re gold-selling recording artists and are one of the few emo rock bands from the early 2000’s to have endured the test of time and kept their fanbase intact. Now releasing records on their own record label, Cardboard Empire, the band made Hate available this past August as a digital download. The first chapter in an upcoming EP trilogy, Hate steers clear of the radio ballads and focuses on Hawthorne Heights’ distinct blend of melodic hardcore injected with the type of energetic, anthemic vocals that first earned them recognition all those years ago. Fans of What It Is To Burn and Full Collapse are gonna get pretty nostalgic over this record, download “Four White Walls” below via the new Emo’s Soundcloud.
