Thrash and Burn Tour feat. Winds of Plague, Chelsea Grin at Emo’s East

5 PM | $20 | with Chelsea Grin, As Blood Runs Black, For the Fallen Dreams, Upon A Burning Body

For almost a decade Winds of Plague have stayed true as one of the longest standing deathcore bands in the U.S., unafraid to incorporate more symphonic elements into their songs that are usually only found in fantasy metal. Having recorded their debut record right after their senior year of high school Winds of Plague have since toured halfway across the world with the likes of Hatebreed, Terror and Danzig. They released their fourth studio album Against the World this past April and are headlining their first Thrash and Burn tour this winter.

If there is a band to open for Winds of Plague it’s Chelsea Grin. Taking their name from a famous torture maneuver otherwise knows as the Glasgow Smile their music is just as brutal, drawing upon the same ominous overtones pervading Whitechapel’s This Is Exile. Makes sense, as their newest album My Damnation features Whitechapel vocalist Phil Bozeman. As Blood Runs Black and For The Fallen Dreams are just some of the openers, definitely don’t want to miss this.
