2/3: D.R.U.G.S., Hit The Lights at Emo’s East

About this time last year D.R.U.G.S., featuring members of Matchbook Romance, From First To Last and Story of the Year, released their first album on Pete Wentz’s Decaydance label. Since then they’ve established themselves as the newest supergroup of the 2000’s, lead by former Chiodos and The Sound of Animals Fighting vocalist Craig Owens. His impressive vocal range allows D.R.U.G.S. to cover everything from pop rock to brutal post-hardcore, and Owens’s large fan following only helped propel them to instant buzzworthy status. This past August Owens posted on the band’s Facebook page that they were working on “the best D.R.U.G.S. songs to date” and only a few weeks ago they released a brand new track “Scream If You’re Crazy” via Noisecreep. Listen to the hard-hitting single below and get stoked for Owens and the rest of D.R.U.G.S. to take over Emo’s East with Hit the Lights this Friday.

Sode Jerk Presents: Close Your Eyes, The Color Morale at Emo’s

7PM | $12/14 | Emo’s Inside

Abilene, Texas-based Close Your Eyes have gone from local standouts to national breakouts in a little over a year, having toured with the likes of Underoath, A Day To Remember as well as having played the coveted Cornerstone festival. Fans of Emarosa will be stuck on lead singer Shane Raymond’s powerful vocals, injected with the ferocity of a Set Your Goals-like melodic hardcore backdrop. Their new album Empty Hands and Heavy Hearts just dropped a few days ago so it’s only appropriate they play TX this weekend. Check the video for “Valleys” below.

Christian metal band The Color Morale exploded onto the scene in 2009 with their impressive debut We All Have Demons, garnering a heavy fan base with their intensified take on Devil Wears Prada-like hardcore. This spring they followed up with My Devil In Your Eyes, which shot up to number forty-four on the US Indie charts. No official videos have yet been released for the new album but listen to brutal new single “Nerve Endings” below, and make sure to get there early to catch Like Moths to a Flame, Affiance and Counterparts.
