Hailing all the way from the western shores of the Gulf of Bothnia, Grammy-nominated Swedish metal band Sabaton are in the states to promote their latest album Coat of Arms. Hellbent on the rehashing the turmoil of the great wars of the last century, their lyrics cover infamous battles and their rivaling leaders. Having toured with DragonForce much of last year, their newest record had to temporarily be put on hold. Look for them to play some new songs tonight as well as some classics, including “Uprising” which you can watch below.
Montreal’s Blackguard is as DIY as you can get. Having formed back in 2001 their first professional recording, So It Begins, didn’t come until 2007 after multiple self-recorded/self-released albums. After being personally invited to open for Yngwie Malmsteen Blackguard went on to open for the likes of Catamenia, Cryptopsy and Behemoth, all before a record label deal. On tour in support of their newest album Firefight, Blackguard is as brutal as they get. Watch the video for “Firefight” below.
